CDL Driver/Production Associate

VALENCIA, CA

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced CDL Driver - Class A / Production Associate to join our Advanced Nutrients team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe delivery and pick-ups between our local and statewide facilities. The CDL Driver will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet deadlines and work in a busy, self-directed environment. You are passionate about your work and see real value in being a team player. This position may be on the road for long hauls, for up to 2-14 days, including team driving.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Transporting orders throughout the Woodland area and Distribution - Centers in CA and MI.
  • Accurate handling of all paperwork pertaining to the inbound/outbound of goods
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures
  • Maintain logs of vehicle repair status
  • Comply with all DOT regulations
  • Previous HAZMAT endorsement preferred. Must be able to obtain within two weeks
  • Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
  • Pre and post trip inspections.
  • Local/Customer deliveries as needed.
  • Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
  • Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
  • Accurately report hours worked and delivery times to maintain DOT required documentation
  • Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
  • Always adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
  • Use GPS to stay informed of route information, and communicate with supervisors and colleagues using CB radio and cab computer
  • Refuel and clean vehicle.
  • Backhauls are occasionally required.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instruction Report defects, accidents, or violations to Transportation/Logistics Manager.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Valid Class A driver's license required
  • Must pass a background check and DOT drug testing
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Exceptional Health and Safety practices including maintenance of your work area
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred
  • Clean driving record with no tickets or accidents within the last 3 years
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems and innate sense of direction
