Position Summary

The Nursery Technician plays a key role in our facility. The Nursey Technician will be responsible for cleaning and maintenance when needed in the faclity, including painting and repairs. They will also be responsible for conducting plant trials, plant husbandry, and general nursery labor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Cleaning and maintenance of facility, including painting and minor repairs
• Plant husbandry, including transplanting, pruning, staking, cloning, watering, foliar feeding, pesticide applications, harvesting, trimming.
• General nursey labor, including irrigation system, assembly and maintenance, reservoir maintenance, environmental control maintenance, garden upkeep and general equipment maintenance/cleaning.
• Conducting plant trials, including pheno-hunting, mixing and applying nutrients, recording measurements, analysis of results 
• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must have strong data entry skills, be able to interpret work order information
• Capability to perform as a functional team member in successfully meeting organizational objections and expectations
• Compliance with all personal protective equipment requirements
• Competency while following company SOP's, company policies and procedures
• Effectively collaborates with all team members
• Ability to read, write, understand, and speak in English
• Self-motivated to accomplish various tasks with or without direction
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Adaptive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with change & adaptation to new systems & workflow 

The starting compensation for this position is $23/hr with an increase to $25/hr after 90 days.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

• Occasionally required to lift and move equipment and supplies weighing 50lbs or more.
• Work with plants while sitting, kneeling, standing. or crouching for extended periods.

Environmental Conditions

• Low temperatures.
• High temperatures.
• Noisy environments.
• High Light-Intensity environments.
