Warehouse Lead
Position Summary
Warehouse Lead will monitor and assist the Warehouse Supervisor in work orders, provide aide to ensure safe work practices, provide additional training/guidance, use essential skills of problem solving and decision making, and escalate any issues as required. General responsibility for overseeing all warehouse activities daily, which includes the shipping and receiving of products, verifying order picks, efficient operation of all materials handling equipment, and completing all necessary records and tracking reports when required. Warehouse Leads will work to rotate duties daily at direction of Warehouse Supervisor. In absence of Warehouse Supervisor, Lead may fill into complete day to day responsibilities of Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment
- Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly
- Deploy staff to maximize output
- Provide feedback to Warehouse Supervisor on performance and attendance issues of other warehouse team members as needed
- Ensure the optimal utilization of space throughout the warehouse
- Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety in accordance with Company, WHMIS and Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Assure the integrity of the inventory and conduct physical inventories
- Train full-time and temporary staff
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
- Coordinate and unload inbound shipments from the production plant
- Work with Receiver and direct product offloading
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors
- Report any damages or errors to Warehouse Supervisor
- Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork is received from drivers and ensure all products are properly counted for
- Ensure all goods are shipped correctly according to the packing slip
- Ensure correct product quantity placed onto boxes and/or pallets according to the packing slip
- Utilize ERP system (Netsuite) to track who picked the shipment, who packed the shipment, etc.
- Ensure all packaged product meets or exceeds the required product quality criterion
- Drive forklift to gather the required product from packing slip for customer orders and load into transport vehicles
- Performs Other Duties as Assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
The incumbent must possess:
- High school diploma/GED or related post-secondary training
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse work experience preferably in a leadership role
- Knowledge and compliance of all personal protective equipment and the use of machinery
- Previous Transportation Management System (TMS) understanding
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Dangerous Goods Regulation
- Experience in operating several types of forklifts
- Forklift certification (or be willing to obtain one)
- Previous RF Gun experience
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds consistently
- Valid Driver’s License

- Sitting and completing computer tasks involving typing, paperwork and systematic validation periodically throughout the shift
