Warehouse Associate
Position Summary
The Abbotsford Warehouse Associate Plays a key role in our distribution and operations. As a production and logistics professional, daily tasks include receiving, inventory control and distribution of material to internal sites and to our domestic and international customers. The ability to safely operate a forklift, build, pick, and load material efficiently and accurately creates customer satisfaction that ultimately leads to higher sales for the Company, making the Associate a valuable member of the warehouse team. The Associate performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in order fulfillment for our production machines, warehousing, and distributing of materials, supplies and equipment. Fulfilling our production department is a fast-paced environment and requires high attention to detail, both verbally and systematically, to ensure all product staged will be ready-to-produce accurately and timely. In addition, the associate will train daily to become fully versed with company specific liquid characteristics, product names, pouring temperature, wait times, as well as a variety of components to satisfy all work orders; This will include, but not limited to, liquid, bottles, caps and boxes to successfully complete all formats of customer work orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receive instruction from Warehouse Supervisor to work as an assigned team member and assist in completion of daily goals
- Ability to comprehend and train to complete various alternate production processes (Set-up routines for pouring and powders, Picking and Mixing of liquid and powder applications, housekeeping, line clearance, and packaging instructions)
- Ability to set-up and accurately follow liquid and powder application work instructions successfully
- Collaborates with Warehouse Supervisor when machinery requires maintenance
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Receiving and unloading incoming goods, occasional staking of arrival goods by hand
- Utilizing a stand-up & sit-down forklift to move product, unload/load inbound and outbound products, gather products as stated on work orders or pick lists for shipping
- Accurate completion of paperwork pertaining to the inbound/outbound of goods
- Operating shrink-wrapping machine to ensure quality of shipments received by the customer
- Manually picking required products and assembling them into boxes and/or pallets
- Ensure oldest product is picked and shipped first using FIFO method (first-in-first-out)
- Conduct weekly cycle counts using WMS and scan guns
- Safely handle all products and components needed to complete work orders
- Accurately follow work order information and determine what materials are needed
- Transfer all materials and finish products within company system utilizing scan gun, validating accurate system movements continuously throughout each workday
- Collaborates to ensure appropriate stocking levels are maintained without disruption to customers while partnering with Shipping & Receiving Department, Inventory Control, & Manufacturing lines
- Clean and prepare batch tanks, transfer hoses, transfer pumps, and other batching equipment according to procedure and training
- Ensure that tools, tanks, and pumps are cleaned properly eliminating cross-contamination
- Systematically and physically return all unused materials to their home locations
- Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to company safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures
- Must have strong data entry skills, be able to interpret work order information
- Ability to follow product setup & packaging instructions
- Capability to perform as a functional team member in successfully meeting organizational objectives and expectations
- Compliance with all personal protective equipment requirements
- Competency while following company SOP’s, company policies and procedures
- Effectively collaborates with all team members
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak in English
- Self-motivated to accomplish various tasks with or without direction
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to be forklift certified within 2 weeks of employment
- Adaptive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and dynamics
- Comfortable with change & adaptation to new systems & workflow
- 1(+) years’ forklift experience (preferred)
- 1(+) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- 1(+) years’ in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a fulfillment background (preferred)
- 1(+) years’ functional knowledge of shipping, booking shipments, and inventory control (preferred)
